This week, Paul and I sat down to talk about something that trips up a lot of freelance educators: the bit before the thing you’re actually selling.
You’ve got a course, a new set of lessons, a service. The course itself is fine. What most people don’t think about is the campaign that runs in the months before the doors open → the small, deliberate steps that get someone from ‘never heard of you’ to ‘yes, I want that.’
We called them the stepping stones. And we really did only skim the surface in this episode (we’re very aware we went boing boing boing across the water like a pebble), so I’ve put together a PDF that lays out all six stones in one place for you to keep.
👉 Download The PDF… it’s FREE!
The six stones, in brief:
Get clear with a real strategy session → diagnose the actual problem, not the one they think they have
Tell your P-T-S story → Problem, Transformation, Solution, in that order
Build a free lead magnet → a small PDF that delivers a genuine quick win
Put a face and voice in front of it → a 30-second video, notes not a script, AI if you hate going live
Make LinkedIn the feed → point your profile and your posts at the magnet
Price for value, never for free → the PDF can be free. Your time cannot.
That last one Paul and I felt quite strongly about. Free workshops, free trials, free sessions… they get crickets. If someone won’t pay even a fiver to show up, they won’t pay for the real thing either.
Have a listen, grab the PDF, and if you’ve got a course or a service you’ve been meaning to launch, this is your nudge.
Or… wait til July and coincide this with the email mini-course we’ll be setting up with the next instalment of Thursday Training!
Wait up…
If you found the PDF useful, we have a whole library of resources like it.
Paid members of Teach Train Coach get access to a growing store of guides, frameworks and tools covering the practical side of running a freelance education business: finding clients, pricing, content, digital products, and more.
There’s also the Thursday Training, a rotating series of pre-recorded video courses released each week, covering the builds that actually move the needle.
On top of that, paid members join us for a live workshop and community Q&A each month, and individual consultations with me are available if you want to talk through something specific to your business.
Membership is €15 a month or €100 a year, so less than the cost of one lesson, for something that could change how you run all of them.
If any of that sounds like what you need right now, you can upgrade below.
